About

I've joined Switch the Play Foundation's #SwitchAndStep  fundraising challenge this April.

Sportspeople are facing unprecedented challenges. Postponed events, abandoned seasons, and cuts to sports funding are causing huge career uncertainty and mental health challenges for thousands of professional and semi-professional sportspeople throughout the UK.

Sadly, one in five sportswomen believes they may have to give up their sport because of the impact of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 88% of male footballers who have been let go from clubs in England?s top four leagues said they had experienced depression or anxiety since being released.

Funds I raise will help support Switch the Play Foundation to provide wellbeing support for sportspeople during this challenging time and to transition successfully into the next chapter of their lives after sport.

The Challenge

Three of the Fun Boy Four Team (Neil Clark, Andrew Hey and Steve Boyd) will be joining "The Allegr 12" fundraising event on April 17th in Coventry, where we will walk and run a combined distance of 200km in 12hrs.

UPDATE: Due to personal circumstances, the fourth member of Fun Boy Four, Lloyd Packer, will be running/walking 50K locally around Addlestone on the 17th. Look out for the yellow wig!

The International Specials (Richard Jones (USA) & Ian Carmichael (Gibraltar - running around the Rock)) will be covering a combined distance of 30k on April 17th in support of SwitchThePlay & Allegr.

The Allegr 12 is a chance to reconnect, to move and to experience the simple, vital joy, that human interaction fuels in us all while raising money for good causes.

Thank you for your support.
